Help with Amberlight
Answers to the most common questions. If none of them help, email us at hello@amberlight.dev.
Do I need a Mac?
Yes. Live data comes from Amberlight Bridge on your Mac. Without one, tap “Ohne Mac ausprobieren” (try without a Mac) to explore the demo mode.
What are the requirements?
A Mac running macOS 15 or later with a coding agent, and an iPhone running iOS 27. Both need to be on the same Wi‑Fi network.
My iPhone can’t find my Mac.
Make sure both are on the same network. On the iPhone, allow Amberlight under Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. On the Mac, allow incoming connections for “Amberlight Bridge” under System Settings → Network → Firewall → Options.
How do I pair again?
On the iPhone, tap the screen → Settings → “Neu koppeln” (re-pair), then scan the QR code Amberlight Bridge shows under “Geräte” (Devices).
Replies are only copied, not sent.
To type replies straight into your terminal, Amberlight Bridge needs permission under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
How do I update Amberlight Bridge?
Download the latest version from amberlight.dev/mac, quit the running Bridge and replace it in your Applications folder. Settings, layout and pairing are kept.
What data leaves my devices?
None reaches us. See the privacy policy for details.
